Internet Mail Setup
For Waycom

There are many various email programs that can be used to access your mail at Waycom. The mail servers here act as a Post Office to both send and receive email. Due to the many different email programs that are available I am unable to give step by step instructions to set up your email program. Outlook Express Users Click Here

You will need a little bit of information in order to setup your email program. You will need to know your username, password and the name of the mail server that you need to access to send and recieve email. All of this information can be found on the setup sheet that you received when you signed up for your account at Waycom.

No matter what program you choose to use for email there will be a place to enter the information needed for the email program to work. If you do not know where to enter this information, use the Help button on the program to find out how to enter this information.

Once you have determined how to enter the information that is needed, enter the following information in the proper places.

  • Smtp Server     mail.waycom.com
  • Pop3 Server     mail.waycom.com

  • If your email program is an older version it may ask for a "Pop2 Server" or a "Pop Server". Waycom still supports the older versions of the Post Office Protocal, so you will still need to enter mail.waycom.com for these as well.

Please remember, sometimes people send large email file attachments. While we try to protect you from the over zealous who send huge files that take hours to download, there are some users who need to be able to accept larger files. The current size limit for any one email message sent to anyone at Waycom is 3 Megabytes (3000 Kilobytes). Should someone send you a large email you will need to be patient. Files of this size take a long time to download. On average if you have just 1 message that is 1 Megabyte in size, and are on a 33.6 Kilabaud connection you will most likely need at least 20 minutes just to download the one message.
